On Tuesday, May 13, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office will host the 2014 Louisiana Tactical Police Officer’s Association (LTPOA) annual SWAT competition on Tuesday, May 13, from sunrise to sunset, at the CPSO Training Academy, 3958 Mallard Cove Drive, Lake Charles.
Sixteen Louisiana SWAT teams representing Lafayette Police Department, Louisiana State Police, Baton Rouge Police Department, Shreveport Police Department, Hammond Police Department, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, Vermillion Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, Natchitoches Task Force, Alexandria Police Department, and Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, will compete in 5 events including an obstacle course, and shooting skills test using rifles, handguns, shotgun, and Sniper.
