A $10,000 donation by Sulphur-based Stine Lumber Company has brought the total contributions to the United Way of Southwest Louisiana Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund to nearly $130,000.Ê Participating in the check-presentation ceremony on Friday, Sept. 16 was (left to right) Lynn Hohensee and Carol Collins, members of the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund Oversight Committee, and four of the Stine brothers Ð Gary, Dick, Dennis and David.Ê The fundÕs monies are earmarked solely for distribution to organizations and agencies in southwest Louisiana that are assisting with the care of evacuees left homeless by Hurricane Katrina nearly three weeks ago.Ê Stine officials emphasized that their contribution to the UW/SWLA Katrina Relief Fund is over and above the companyÕs planned commitment to the UW/SWLA 2006 campaign that currently is underway.
