Devastating floods in Louisiana stretched over twenty parishes have estimated 40,000 houses damaged; some 86,000 people have applied for federal disaster aid, over 30,000 people rescued and 13 people are known to have died in the wake of the disaster. It's a crisis some people are comparing to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. As southern Louisiana tries to move forward, the challenge of recovering from this flood is daunting, in part, because the disaster caught so many people off guard. Thousands of people are left with nothing. As the days go by and the physical and emotional recovery begins, it will be the support of people like you that will measure our compassion for others. As we ask for your generous financial support, please know that we want your heartfelt prayers to never cease. Please pray for our neighbors! Your prayers and financial support will give thousands of people the opportunity to rebuild their lives in a way that can bring the most comfort during these very difficult times.
