Alexander Pope, 20, did not let Thursday morning’s strong wind gusts stop him from getting in some practice time at the Lake Charles Ward 3 Recreation Center skate park at 210 Power Centre Parkway. Pope, who recently moved to the area from Leesville, said he sometimes gets hurt when he takes a fall, but has never broken any bones.
