Music enthusiasts listen and dance the sounds of Brad Brinkley and Greg Blanchard during the Marshland Festival at the Lake Charles Civic Center on Saturday afternoon.

Music for all. From zydeco, oldies, cajun and country. Local and National artist playing both days of the festival. Twenty two years ago a group of parents, school teachers and administrators were concerned for the youth of Hackberry Louisiana. These various groups of the northwestern town of Cameron Parish, were trying to provide a way to fund various School, Church, and Community organizations. Through these efforts, the Marshland Festival was born.

The Marshland Festival Association Board was created which would provide a means to bring the community together in one place. The non-profit board would provide the environment and entertainment needed to draw local and surrounding areas together. The youth groups would have the opportunity to raise the money they needed to support their organizations.
