Jack Pedersen, the grandson of Cindy Pedersen of Lake Charles, hauls away his new tackle box and fishing rod he won for catching the 2nd largest fish during the annual CPSO Fishing Derby on Saturday morning. He was one of 72 kids that registered to fish.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Youth/D.A.R.E. Division will be holding their Annual Youth Fishing Derby Saturday, June 7, from 6:00 a.m.—9:00 a.m. at the CPSO Farm Pond behind the Calcasieu Correctional Center at 5400 E. Broad Street. Participants, who must be 15 years of age or younger, are asked to bring their own fishing gear (only one per person), bait, and a cooler to bring their fish home. Refreshments will be furnished.
