Are you suffering from a case of the Mondays? Well head over to the Lake Charles Civic Center (front lawn) to enjoy great music with beautiful Lake Charles as the backdrop to pick up your spirits. Bring your blanket, lawn chair and friends and enjoy a free concert as the sun sets over shimmering Lake Charles. Sponsored by the City of Lake Charles and the Community Band, the series features a variety of styles from classical to movie soundtracks every Monday in June. Composed of volunteers, the Community Band will take the stage from 7–8:30 p.m. at the Lake Charles Civic Center on the front lawn. Every week, the line-up has a new theme, so you won’t see the same show twice. Watch the sun go down and the night heat up with great live entertainment that’s perfect for the whole family. For information on the Community Band, visit www.facebook.com/LakeCharlesCommunityBand. In the case of inclement weather, Catch a Concert will be moved indoors to the Lake Charles Civic Center Mezzanine on the second floor.
Catch a Concert is sponsored by the City of Lake Charles' Parks and Recreation Department and ConocoPhillips. The band is also supported by a partnership grant from the Arts and Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana and the City of Lake Charles, as well as a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by The Arts and Humanities Council of SWLA.
